[kozaza stay] Manhaedang Hanokstay @Bukchon, Seoul

Situated in the historic Bukchon neighborhood in Seoul, Korea, Manaedang takes its name after the respected Buddhist monk, writer and Korean independence movement activist Manae Han Yongwoon, who occupied this house during the Japanese colonial period. Here, Manae founded the Buddhist magazine, “Yusim.” In recognition of this historic fact, the Cultural Heritage Administration of Korea registered this place as a Modern Cultural Heritage Site in 2003. Now, this historic house opens its doors to guests who wish to experience Korean traditional life. In this adorable tiled-roof house and quaint neighborhood lined with traditional Korean houses (Hanok), glimpse the old Korea of the bygone era.

The name means that this is your place of shelter, which takes care of you while you are staying in Seoul. At Ultari House, we aim to be different from other guesthouses in Korea and we are definitely not ordinary (come experience it for yourself!). We want you to make this place your home in Seoul and we will do our best to make your stay comfortable and memorable. Our first house is located in the heart of Hongdae (Hongik University) and the second house is located in a Korean collective housing area nearby Hongik Univ. ARE’X station where you can go to Inchon Int. Airport directly.

From our houses, you will find easy access to the metro station, cafes, shops as well as a variety of delicious restaurants at affordable prices. Our pantry is well stocked with Korean tea, coffee as well as other favorites like ramen and kimchi as well as bread, cereal, milk and juice. Like your own home, please help yourself whenever you are hungry. Oh, and don’t worry about the amenities because we have towels, hair & body wash, face wash for you to use. But of course, please see free to bring your personal ones as well! We are a fun-loving bunch and we will love to teach you some of our local Korean customs as well as making new friends from around the world. My Love from the Star exhibition will be held from June 10th to August 15th on DDP (Dongdaemun Design Plaza).
You can watch the house that Do, Min Joon & Cheon, Song I used to live in – Actual film set, enjoy shooting experience (Chroma-Key) in balcony space and more. And It will display 3D video, many photo zones, etc.

It is located in Seoul and run both WWOOF Korea office and this guesthouse. This house is what we call Hanok, Korean traditional house with a small green garden. It is located in Bukchon, nestled among Gyeongbok Palace, Changdeok Palace(UNESCO World Heritage site), and Jongmyo Royal Shrine. Bukchon has the largest area of Hanok houses in Seoul and, is one of the most beautiful residential districts in Korea.
There are lots of historical spots and cultural heritage sites, galleries and cafes along the small alleys that meander like a maze. Excellent access to both traditional area and downtown Seoul.
